The creation of a guitar require not only manual skills and precision but a particular ear for music and materials knowledges. Wood, this precious material, is fundamental for many aspects. It's important for the colors it offers, for the design created by its veins, and above all for its musicality. In fact every kind of wood offers different sounds. Off course you must know it before to start creating the new instrument, this is at the principle of this art. When Mauro realizes his guitars he works with extreme precision and confidence, and is not easy when you are working at an unique piece and every move can lead to a beyond repair error. The final test offered by the great musician Lino Brotto leaves no doubts about the great work of Mauro, and is a pleasure for me to witness it not only with my camera but with my hearing too.

Per realizzare una chitarra, servono manualità e precisione, ma non solo. Serve un buon orecchio musicale, e soprattutto conoscere i materiali adatti. Il legno, questo prezioso materiale, si apprezza per i colori, per le linee create dalle venature sempre uniche, ma soprattutto per la sonorità, perché è il legno che decide il suono della chitarra. Ovviamente questo bisogna saperlo prima di crearla, e la capacità di scegliere fa parte di questo mestiere. Nel realizzare le sue chitarre Mauro procede con precisione e sicurezza, e non è facile quando si sta lavorando ad un pezzo unico ed ogni errore potrebbe compromettere il lavoro. Il test finale, offerto nientedimeno che dal musicista Lino Brotto toglie ogni dubbio sulla riuscita dell’opera, ed è un piacere per me testimoniare questo lavoro oltre che con la fotocamera anche con il mio udito.
